Tina Li

Tina is a dedicated 12 year musician who has been playing the violin since she was 5 years old. She is currently studying under Mary Edge, a graduate of Julliard. Up until this year, she studied under Caroline Ewan (2013–2016) and Janet Kavanagh (2009–2013). She attends T. H. Rogers and is in seventh grade. She is in the T. H. Rogers Chamber Orchestra, which is directed by Lynsey Slavonic. She has attended several music camps, including the Virtuosi String Quartet Workshop, and AFA. This year will be her second year as a Virtuosi member. This year will also be her second year competing in UIL Orchestra and UIL Solo and Ensemble.
Besides playing the violin, Tina also does competitive swimming and volleyball. She is a member of the Rice Aquatics swim team and is part of her school volleyball team. She is bilingual, speaking both Chinese and English fluently, and is currently learning French. She also loves to travel and has been all around both Canada and the US. When she has free time, she usually volunteers. Tina has volunteered in multiple charitable causes such as Camp MI-Way, a camp for disabled children. She also will be participating in multiple art competitions and showcases, such as the Scholastic Art Competition, this year.
