Grace Marshburn

Grace Marshburn is a senior at Shadow Creek High School. She is an accomplished flutist and piccoloist for the school’s Marching Band and Wind Symphony. She took up the flute at age 8, adding the piccolo to her repertoire in middle school. She has earned Region placement on piccolo for the past 4 years, with Area placements her Freshman and Senior years. Additionally, she has been a member of the Houston Youth Symphony for the past three years, currently playing for Philharmonia. Outside of school and music, Grace’s hobbies include travel, sewing, art, and learning Russian. Of her travels across the globe, one of her favorite countries to visit is Russia, where she once attended a Tchaikovsky viola competition in Moscow. Her band directors, Josh Mooney and Diana Garcia, as well as her private lesson teachers, Lilia Gamez and Shannon Small, have played a significant role in her musical development.
