Arturo Gonzalez

Arturo Gonzalez, 14, has been playing the cello since the age of 11. He is in the 8th grade at Knox Junior High in the Woodlands, Texas, under the orchestra direction of Shelby Nichols. He studies privately with Linda McGregor. Arturo has been a participant in the American Festival of the Arts (AFA) program, the Woodlands Area Youth Symphony, and the Conroe ISD Honor Orchestra. He is in his first season with the Virtuosi of Houston. He has earned a top positions in the Region IX Middle School Region Orchestra and 2nd chair in the Conroe ISD Honor Orchestra. He has won multiple Gold medals for his performance at the Texas UIL Solo and Ensemble Contest. He is in the National Honor Society, and his hobby is programming. Arturo has attended several Microsoft programming summer camps, and recently completed the Duke TIP Video Game Programming course. He has three guppy fish and fifty shrimp.
