Kaysi Yearous
Kaysi Yearous, age 17, is a twelfth grade student at the High School for Performing and Visual Arts in Houston, Texas, and has been playing the piano since she was four years old. Some of her recent accomplishments include prizes in the MTNA Conference Texas Division, Chopin Society of Houston Youth Competition, Rubato International Piano Competition, Texas State International Concerto Competition, and Sherer International Piano Competition, among others. Kaysi has been selected to attend music festivals such as PianoTexas, Bowdoin International Music Festival, Colburn Piano Seminar, Texas State International Piano Festival, and Oberlin Piano Festival. In addition to her private studies with Dr Todd Van Kekerix at the University of Houston, Kaysi has participated in masterclasses with artists including Michelle Cann, Joyce Yang, Lydia Artymiw, Joseph Rackers, and Lowell Liebermann. Outside of piano, she enjoys reading and has an extensive collection of rubber ducks.
