Nathan Dumrongthai

Nathan Dumrongthai is a 16-year-old junior attending the Village School. He began studying the piano at the age of 5 and the cello, under Apichai Leamthong, at age 9. In 2016, he at-tended his first music camp at the Wells Cathedral School in the UK. In 2017, he moved to Malaysia, where he became a member of the Selangor Philharmonic Orchestra. That same year Nathan received first prize for the Grand Prize Virtuoso, and in 2018 won first prize at the Hong Kong International Performance Arts Festival. In 2019, he moved to the United States, where he currently studies with Dr. Daniel Saenz. He is returning for his second season at Virtuosi. Other than performing, Nathan is also an experienced composer. In 2021, in cooperation with AFA and the Houston Ballet Academy, Nathan wrote his first ballet piece titled
“Spring Without You” — a reflection on self-isolation.
