Hannah Han

Hannah Han is a 12 year old, 7th grade student at the Westchester Academy for International Studies. She began studying violin at the age of 3 at Peabody Preparatory. At the Shepherd School of Music Preparatory Program of Rice University, studied violin with Mrs. Sylvia Ouellette for five years and became a student of Mrs. Rodica Gonzalez – a member of the Houston Symphony – in 2018. She has performed more than twenty recitals (solo and chamber ensembles) at Rice University, and participated in the AFA summer Music Festival for 2017- 2018 in the first violin section of the Symphonia and Camerata Orchestra. She won fifth place in 2019 and placed first during early 2020 in the annual Virtuosi of Houston Immanuel and Helen B. Olshan Concerto Competition. Hannah was also a finalist for the 22nd Symphony North of Houston Young Artist Concerto Competition. This is her third season with the Virtuosi of Houston. She also played piano for two years and loves to sing. In addition to music, Hannah is a passionate fencer and has received 12 medals from regional and national fencing competitions. She also enjoys many other hobbies, ranging from other performing arts and athletic activities, to academics.
