Concerto Concert

Virtuosi of Houston’s (VoH) will host their annual Concerto Concert on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at the Hobby Center for the Preforming Arts, Zilkha Hall. This is a unique concert experience that showcases solo performances of the winners of VoH’s annual Concerto Competition. Every winter (January or February), VoH assembles a panel of five distinguished professional musicians to be judicators for their annual concerto competition. This is a performance competition for VoH students to compete for scholarship prize money in two division: strings/harp and winds/percussion/piano. The judges panel critiques each student’s performance and ultimately selects seven finalist: first and second place in each of the two divisions and an overall third, fourth and fifth place. Each of the seven finalist receives prize money to be used to further their music development. The annual Concerto Concert features the first place winner of each division by allowing them to perform their winning piece accompanied by the VoH orchestra. The solo performances featured in this concert experience provides an outstanding demonstration of the beautiful artistry and talent of our young musicians that you do not want to miss!
