Lauren Patton
Lauren Patton is a senior at The High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Houston. She plays oboe and English horn and is a member of the orchestra, chamber, and wind ensembles. Lauren performed with the Honors Performance Series at Carnegie Hall and has enjoyed three summers at the American Festival of the Arts music festival. She was looking forward to attending the Sewanee Music Festival last summer. Lauren is a 2-time area qualifier in the TMEA state music competition. She has enjoyed playing as a part of the pit bands for high school musical performances and has performed for the legendary James Galway in celebration of his 80th birthday. Lauren is a former member of Bay Area Youth Symphony and Houston Youth Symphony. She studies with Dr. Linda Gilbert and is honored to be directed by Dr. Brad Smith and Mr. Stephen Crawford at HSPVA. Besides music, Lauren’s other passion is coffee, as she is a barista at Starbucks.
