Concerto Concert

The evening sponsored by Denis and Susan Debakey will shine a spotlight on Houston’s distinguished doctors, Michael and Paul Mann, as they are honored for their contributions to the community. The program will feature a performance by Vanae Schunk, the talented violinist, and Winner of the 26th Annual Virtuosi of Houston Concerto Competition, who will captivate the audience with her skillful artistry. Additionally, an accomplished guitarist, Isaac Bustos will be featured in the Joaquín Rodrigo’s evocative “Concierto de Aranjuez,” promising a breathtaking musical journey.

The celebration will continue with a lively rendition of “The Carnival of the Animals” by Camille Saint-Saëns, brought to life by pianists Mani Hourfar, a proud alum of Virtuosi, and Yan Shen, paired with engaging narration by Franz and Deborah Krager. The program will also include the delightful “Divertissement Populaire Francais,” arranged by Robert Nelson, ensuring a diverse and enchanting experience.
