Mary Kathryn Gibson
Mentoring Houston's youth through orchestral excellence
Mary Kathryn Gibson, age 16, is a Homeschooled Sophomore. She has been playing the violin for over 12 years. She has also been a member of Virtuosi of Houston for three seasons. Mary Kathryn has been participating in All-Region Orchestra since her sixth-grade year. She attends violin lessons with Rodica Gonzalez, a member of the Houston Symphony, First Violin Section. She has also been a member of the Houston Youth Symphony Orchestra for many years. Among other things Mary Kathryn is a competitive athlete as a long-distance runner, she has competed nationally and broken meet, state and national records and one world record. She continues to pursue her dreams musically and athletically.

- Multiple appearances at Junior Olympic Games since age eight
