Julia Hearn
Julia Hearn, 17, has studied violin for ten years, and this is her first year in Virtuosi. She is a senior at Northland Christian School where she is the concertmaster of her orchestra under the direction of Kelly Hearn. Julia currently studies with Hannah Watson, and previously studied with Mauricio Oliveros. Some of Julia’s notable accomplishments include being a Houston Youth Symphony member, concertmaster of the TMEA Region 33 Symphony Orchestra, a two-time TMEA All-State Orchestra member, and a five year TPSMEA All-State Orchestra member where she was a principal for four years. She has served as concertmaster at Kinhaven Senior Session and UTA Summer Strings, where she received the Jenifer Lenin scholarship, and has also attended the AFA Summer Music Festival. Aside from music, Julia participates in her school’s varsity basketball, track, and cross country teams, and she is looking forward to continuing orchestra on the college level.
