Emileigh Vandiver, cellist

Emileigh Brooke Vandiver is a cellist in the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. The New York Times has called her “an excellent performer,” and the Boston Musical Intelligencer praised her for bringing “a world of emotional meaning to the cello.”

A Virtuosi of Houston alumna, she has performed with the Houston Symphony, Calgary Philharmonic, Baltimore Symphony, Grant Park Orchestra, Boston Lyric Opera, and the Grammy-nominated chamber orchestra A Far Cry. A specialist in contemporary music, she has collaborated with composers including Steve Reich, David Lang, John Adams, and Julia Wolfe.

She is on the faculty of the Dallas Conservatory and has taught at the University of New Hampshire, the New England Conservatory Preparatory School, and Project STEP. She holds bachelor’s, master’s, and graduate-diploma degrees from the New England Conservatory, where she received the Gunther Schuller President’s Medal.
