Steven Seiler is a 18-year-old bassist and a senior at Stephen F. Austin High School under the leadership of Ann Victor. He studies under Eric Larson of the Houston Symphony, Kurry Duffy of the Houston Ballet orchestra, and Andy Moritz. Steven began playing bass when he was 12. Throughout his 7 years of experience, Steven has performed solo repertoire in Carnegie Hall, and has played concerts in Europe, New York and around Texas. He has played many gigs in Houston and is a member of the SFA Tri-M honor music foundation. He has attended master classes with virtuoso bass players, Mark Morton (Texas Tech) and Jeff Bratitich (University of North Texas), and has studied with: James Vandemark (Eastman school of music), Joeseph Holt (Boston Conservatory), and Rob Kassinger (DePaul school of music). Additionally, he placed in the All-State Philharmonic orchestra for the 2018 TMEA convention and also made the All region orchestra for his fifth year. His favorite piece is Porgy and Bess, a symphonic picture, composed by George Gershwin, who is also his favorite pianist. Steven is excited to begin his third and final season with Virtuosi.
