Hannah Han, an 11-year-old, is a 6th grade student at the Westchester Academy for International Studies. She began studying violin at the age of 3 at the Peabody Preparatory. At the Shepherd School of Music Preparatory Program of Rice University, she has studied violin with Ms. Sylvia Ouellette for five years and is now a student of Ms. Rodica Gonzalez, a member of the Houston Symphony since 2018. She has performed more than twenty recitals (solo and chamber ensembles) at Rice University. She has participated in the AFA summer Music Festival for 2017– 2018 as first violin in the Symphonia and Camerata Orchestra. She was the fifth place winner in the 20th annual Virtuosi of Houston Immanuel and Helen B. Olshan Concerto Competition and the finalist for 22nd Symphony North of Houston Young Artist Concerto Competition. This is her second season with the Virtuosi of Houston. She also played piano for two years and loves singing songs. In addition to music, she is a passionate fencer and earned 10 medals from regional and national fencing competitions. She likes reading, swimming, rock-climbing, ice-skating, science, math, and playing with her friends and family.
