Caleb Crowder is a bassoonist from the High School for Performing and Visual Arts. He has taken lessons from many graduate students at Rice University, including Jessica Goldbaum and Sean Gordan. Currently he is studying with Conrad Cornelison, the Juilliard undergrad and Rice graduate, who now plays 2nd bassoon for the Houston Grand Opera. In addition to his studies in music, Caleb likes to participate in as many science related competitions as possible. He has traveled across Houston competing in Science Olympiad, within Florida competing for the Conrad Challenge, and through France as a Department of State Ambassador through NASA for the Mars Together initiative. He is also the president and co-founder of HSPVA’s first STEM club. In all, Caleb is a very active member in both the artistic and the scientific communities.
