Victor Xia, 15 years old, began playing the violin when he was 10. He is a sophomore at Jersey Village High School. He has played in two samurai string orchestral concerts hosted by his teacher, Mark Multop, performed at the Good Shepherd church on numerous Sundays and performed in a festival. For the past two summers, he attended the Louisiana Northwestern State University’s Advance program camp for 3 weeks. Victor achieved philharmonic region in 6th grade and Symphony region in 7th, 8th and 9th grade. He also made it into area in 9th grade and completed solo and ensemble four times now earning 1s on each. Victor’s current and only violin teacher is Mark Multop and his orchestra director (in high school) is Lauren Martin. He enjoys playing tennis, speaking Chinese and Spanish at a semi-fluent level and being an officer in a volunteer club at school called the Hope Club.
