Elizabeth Grahn is a junior at Klein Collins High School and has been playing trumpet for five years. This is her second season with Virtuosi and has also begun her first season with the Houston Youth Symphony. She has been a member of the All-Region Band for the past three years and has been receiving superior ratings at the Texas State Solo and Ensemble Contest the past two years. At school, Elizabeth is a member of the marching band, Wind Ensemble Band, full orchestra, and musical pit, all under the direction of Carlos Lara and Chris Rugila. During her freshman year, Elizabeth performed with the Wind Ensemble at Disney World via invitation, and last year she performed with her school’s full orchestra and band at the Music For All National Festival in Indianapolis. Elizabeth is currently taking lessons with Mr. Jim Austin, former principle player for the Houston Symphony.
