Cellist, Megan Pham, is currently a senior at Klein Oak High School.
She began her musical studies as a violinist at the age of 8. However, at age 11 she traded her violin for a cello and has fallen in love with it ever since. She now plans to follow her passion for music and pursue a degree in cello performance. Currently, she studies under Xiao Wong of the Houston Symphony. Under the direction of Tanner Ledford, she is principal cellist of both Klein Oak’s Chamber and Symphony Orchestra. In addition to playing cello, she has taken up playing guitar, piano, and bassoon. Megan has won both the Klein Oak band (2015) and orchestra (2016) concerto competitions and was a finalist in the 2016 Symphony North Houston Concerto Competition. She spends her summers continuing her studies at festivals such as the Brevard Music Festival, Music Academy of the West MERIT Program, and Philadelphia International Music Festival.
