Maren Tonini, a 16-year-old Junior
at Shadow Creek High School, has
played the oboe since sixth grade.
She qualified for region orchestra
and region band in grades eight and
ten. In tenth grade, she was third
chair in region and advanced to area
auditions in which she got fourth.
Along with the oboe, Maren has
played piano for eight years and has
learned how to play the organ and
the ukulele. She is currently teaching
herself how to play the guitar. During
the summers, Maren enjoys going
to Especially for Youth (EFY) and
Girls’ Camp — both camps under
the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter
Day Saints. Maren also enjoys going
on long runs and dancing. Maren
aspires to become a professional
oboist when she gets older. To do
so, she is currently taking from Mrs.
Annie Henneke and Mrs. Anne Leek.
Previously, Maren has taken lessons
from Mr. David Barford, Mr. Matt
Langus, and Mrs. Xiaodi Lin.
