Jose Enriquez

Jose Enriquez, 18, started playing
the cello at age 11 in 5th grade. As
a returning member of Virtuosi, he
now teaches private lessons to high
school and middle school students.
From 2013 to 2016, Jose attended
Daniel Saenz’s annual All-State Strings
Camp. In addition to music camps,
Jose also participates in the Academy
of Science and Health Profession’s
Freshman Orientation and Leadership
Workshop and Conroe ISD Leadership
Conferences. In State Solo and Ensemble
competition Jose has received 3 division
“1.” From 2013–present, he qualified as
a cellist in Region IX Philharmonic and
Symphony Orchestras; 2015–2017, Jose
placed top 3 in the region consecutively.
In addition to music, Jose has studied
Mandarin Chinese for 4 years, is the
president of the Conroe chapter of
Chinese National Honor Society, a
member of Mu Alpha Theta, Conroe’s
Young Republicans, a multitude of
volunteer clubs, Student Council and
the school’s Engineering and Design
Competition Robotics Team. He now
pursues a career in medicine and one
day seeks to join the Texas Medical
Centre Orchestra.
