Jasmine Patience is 17 years old and has been playing the violin since the age of 4. She is in 12th grade at Elkins High School. She was a member of the Region Orchestra in 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 11th and 12th grade and qualified for the All-Area Orchestra this year. She has attended the Summer Strings camp at the University of Texas at Arlington and the American Festival for the Arts. Jasmine has also received a 1 at Solo and Ensemble every year since the 5th grade and went to State Solo and Ensemble in the 9th and 10th grade. She has been taking lessons from Sophia Hsieh for the past 7 years and took lessons from Mika Hasler for 5 years prior to that. In her spare time she enjoys swimming, eating, playing with her dog, and sailing in the Caribbean.
