Dustin Cunningham

Dustin Cunningham, 17, is in his seventh year of playing the violin, having begun lessons at the age of 10. He is a senior attending Klein Collins High School, studying under Carlos Lara and serving as Concertmaster of the Chamber and Symphony Orchestras. Dustin studies privately with Dr. Jackson Guillen, Principal Second Violinist of the Symphony of Southeast Texas. In 2016 he attended the Summer Music Conservatory at Sam Houston State University, where he competed as a soloist and performed in a chamber ensemble. In Solo and Ensemble competitions, he has twice been named Outstanding Performer and received Excellent ratings. Dustin has performed as a first violinist in the 2015–2016 and 2016–2017 Region 9 Symphony Orchestras, placing as a top 10 violinist in the region both years. He is an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormon) and this past November became an Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America.
