Caroline Donovan, 17, was a three year graduate from Friendswood High School and is currently taking a gap year to study music. She began playing oboe at age 11 and took up english horn at age 14. Caroline has been a member of the Houston Youth Symphony for three years. Last year, she earned the honor of placing in the 6A Texas All-State Band. She has been studying with Dr. Anne Leek of the Houston Symphony for six years, and is also studying with Dr. Andrew Parker from the University of Texas at Austin. In high school, Caroline held leadership positions in her band program for three years. Caroline was a member of the National Honor Society, National English Honor Society, and the Tri-M Music Honor Society. She also raised two goats when she participated in Future Farmers of America her junior year of high school. In her free time, she enjoys reading and writing poetry. Caroline’s favorite author is Oscar Wilde.
