Arielle Ollagnon, 15, is a sophomore violinist at HSPVA under the direction of Dr. Brad Smith. She is thrilled to be joining Virtuosi for her first season. Arielle began violin at age 7 in Moscow, Russia with Ludmila Osterov. Since then, she has studied with Hania Gmitruk (London, England), Dan Flonta (Cape Cod, Massachusetts), Mika Hasler (Houston, Texas), and currently studies with Rodica Gonzales (Houston, Texas). Solo honors include a performance with the Johnston symphony orchestra in 2015 featuring works by Paganini, Cape Cod Conservatory Scholarship Competition Winner (2012, 2014), and many solo recitals. Past summer festivals include Festival Youth Orchestra at the New England Conservatory, Festival South at the University of Southern Mississippi, and an intensive week long study with famed violinist and teacher Olivier Charlier in Nice, France (2016). Masterclasses include study with Patricia Kopatchinskaja (2016), Aaron and Alvaro Bitran (2015), Eric Garcia (2015), Misha Galaganov (2015, 2016), Nick Kendall (2014), Heather Goodchild (2013). Orchestral experience includes region orchestra in Texas (2015, 2016), and district orchestra in Massachusetts (2014), a seat in the Cape Cod Youth Symphony (2011–2014), and Houston Youth Symphony (2014–15, 2016–2017). At school Arielle is a part of the chamber music and symphony programs and studies music theory.
